Whilst speaking on the phone with a prof needing help with a particular software: Me: “Type in *insert letters here* and then dash…” Prof: “Dash? That looks like a ‘*’ right?” Me: “…. no…” And here I thought I was in an academic environment, but I was sadly mistaken.
