A new beginning
You can say I’ve practically have waiting for this all my life. I finally have my very own website, not to mention a blog running on a proper system. I’ve came a long way (or short, depending on how you look at it) since my tripod/geocity and Spymac days.
The design, of course, is going to change completely once I get my head around the WP system, read up on some handy-dandy PHP and other fun coding/database books. Until then, I’m sticking with the default Wordpress theme. This will be quite a fun and challenging project for me. The fact that I’m now paying for the domain and hosting will hopefully also keep me working till completion, which as we all know from a web-developer’s point of view, is never.
Those of you that followed along my older blogs know that I like to name them with some of my favourite jazz numbers. This one is no exception. “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” was written by Irvin Berlin for the 1936 film Follow the Fleet. Since then, the track has been covered by famous jazz musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat “King” Cole, and Tony Benette. The version I have uploaded is by Diana Krall in her 1999 album When I Look in Your Eyes under Impulse! Records. Produced by Dave Foster, Tommy LiPuma, and Johnny Mandel, the album ended up winning two Grammy’s including best engineered album in non-classical, as well as best jazz vocal. Lyrics after the jump.

There may be trouble ahead,
But while there’s music and moonlight,
And love and romance,
Let’s face the music and dance. Before the fiddlers have fled,
Before they ask us to pay the bill,
And while we still have that chance,
Let’s face the music and dance.Soon, we’ll be without the moon,
Humming a different tune, and then,
There may be teardrops to shed,
So while there’s music and moonlight,
And love and romance,
Let’s face the music and dance.
